FDL Environmental started out as the “Green” bit of Freeman Designs Ltd., my platform for freelancing as a contract Architectural Technician for nearly 25 years. The limited company has now outlived its original purpose and has been closed down, but FDLE carries on into my semi-retirement, now embracing a wide range of activities, and frequently blurring the boundaries between work, hobby and voluntary interests.
This website tries to show the range of things I do, but it’s not easy to put things in neat pigeon holes. There are too many overlaps. For instance at an annual Scout event ( Voluntary Sector ) whilst helping run activities ( Working ) I might select ( Woodland Management ), fell and log up (Forestry & Tree Surgery ) a tree to use for the Pit Saw Challenge ( Training ) and carve ( Demonstration ) a themed prize ( Trophies ) for the day’s main event.
